Tiny boxes, performed and created by Doug Hammett, Craig Ng, and Outi Harma, takes the simplicity of a children’s play costume to its abstract absurdity. Its starts with a minimal aesthetic, three yellow boxes on stage magically sliding across the stage. They then transform into clunky dancing birds giving birth to a pack of rats. Next the performers break out of the box, revealing their true nature, large rats. The boxes become a bed a breakfast for all the rats. The piece ends with the voice of the homeowners discovering there are rats in the kitchen. Tiny Boxes is a delightful piece that just makes you laugh all the way through.
