Written and Illustrated by Doug Hammett, "Faerie's Tale" is a book about a person who explores the world of sound to compose a magical musical score. Along the way, they discover firsthand the profound interconnected nature of things. What started as a desire to create became an unforgettable journey into self-discovery and a deep connection to existence.

Be-twixt is a 52-page Illustrated book by Doug Hammett featuring 20 colorful paintings accompanied by prose, poetry, and prayer. The book explores gender dynamics, diversity, self-acceptance, joy, spiritual connection, and ecological awareness. This is my second poetry book, comprised of 16 poems and paintings created in Sayulita, Mexico. With these art pieces I continue to use a limited palette of paints and collaged elements to help tap into a more stylized and dreamlike world. These paintings serve as jumping off points for a deep and playful exploration of ideas and feelings through poetry. “Permission to Grumble!” began as 14 paintings created in Marrakesh, Morocco. Combining travel with art-making taps me into the energy of the land each time. This historical location, filled with dessert magic, inspired a dreamlike painting style comprised of a limited palette and collage. This series of works inspired a poetic writing style different from my other illustrated books. I am proud to say, this is my first of a series of new books of poetry.

The world is full of diversity. Our very existence relies on its intricate complexities. Millions of species have evolved as the planet adapts to its constantly changing environments. One doesn’t have to look very far in the oceans, forests, and savannas to see examples of life’s infinite expressions and relationships.

This deck is an invitation to embrace the many layers of one’s life found between shadow and light. This includes hidden aspects that unconsciously have an influence on our daily lives. Owning and honoring the full spectrum of ourselves helps pave new paths toward a more fulfilling life.

The book “How Color Created the World”, written and illustrated by Doug Hammett follows the tradition of Creation Stories, similar to those found around the world. The basic need to know where we came from, where are we now, and where are we going, are the basic questions we ask ourselves daily. Traditionally a creation story has an element of playfulness and the unpredictable. Who knows, maybe our joy in relating to light, color, and form may be the very impulse that brought us all into existence. If we let color tell its story this may be what it reveals.

The Humorist book called “Men Rrrr Dogs” doesn’t hold back in any sense. The imagery comes from the series of works made in 2009 centered on the tumescent membered Man Dogs. 

The “Los Angeles Street Art #1” Book documents the art found on the streets in the Arts District of LA. These marks made on a public surface can range from a simple tag made with a marker or sticker on the back of a road sign to an elaborate commissioned mural spanning the side of a multi-storied building. 

Our documentation of these works will allow us to enjoy them beyond their time in the world and find a place in this long, rich history. It is one thing to see these pieces in a book, it is another to go out into the streets and discover them in person. Hopefully this book will inspire you to take part in this magical world either as the next street artist or art lover.

Anatomy X Change documents Brad Davis’s furry life forms created during the covid pandemic. Brad has taken an art form, we saw at Burning Man called Franken-Stuffs, to a whole new level. The book documents these precarious creatures and playfully names their newly discovered species’ classification.
