Traditionally, totems have served as a means of connecting people to the spirit world. They help give shape and relationship to an otherwise intangible energy. The vertical format of the show allowed each artist to explore how their art may tap into that energy. (Artists: Brad Davis, Doug Hammett, Outi Harma, Stephanie Shaw)
“In-Spire” incorporated the artworks of the show both as a backdrop and centerpiece, enacting the struggles and challenges of pursuing a connection with the spirit world through physical means. Egg Drop Theater (Craig Ng, Outi Harma, Doug Hammett, Stephanie Shaw, Brad Davis) presented the story in a playful abstract way with charactors such as a sensual boss raven lady with a disco ball helmet, two accident prone assembly line workers, strange little hand space healers, and a ringleader task master.
Convertible Play House (Jaspr Byrns, Casey Marie Smith, and Doug Hammett), accompanied the theatrical show with a live-music lineup of electronic and acoustic polyrhythmic beats and melodies.
